Sources: Liverpool’s transfer plans revealed as ‘huge summer’ on the cards for Slot and Hughes

TBR Football can exclusively confirm what Liverpool have planned in the summer transfer window in wake of Arne Slot’s triumphant maiden season at Anfield.

Liverpool have been head and shoulders above the rest of the Premier League this season and could yet break the 90-point barrier before the campaign ends.

In addition, Liverpool have won the title despite two quiet transfer windows, with Federico Chiesa the only new player to link up with the squad over the past 12 months.

However, the Reds have a “huge summer” on the cards as Arne Slot and Richard Hughes look to build on their success from the 2024/25 campaign.

Liverpool hoping to sign at least four new players as creativity a priority with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to leave

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that Liverpool are planning to make at least four signings, potentially five.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s decision to leave Liverpool is obviously going to affect the Reds’ transfer plans – but not necessarily from a positional perspective.

TBR Football sources understand that Liverpool believe Alexander-Arnold is their most creative player, and they’ll be looking for players to replace said creativity.

In terms of the right-back position, Conor Bradley is set to get the chance to play.

It’s likely that a young prospect will be brought in to replace Alexander-Arnold, along with current players like Joe Gomez, Jarell Quansah, Curtis Jones and others.

Meanwhile, in terms of replacing Alexander-Arnold’s creativity, they are looking at midfield.

Another winger could be on the cards, but also potentially a new attacking midfielder, which is where the interest in Morgan Gibbs-White and Xavi Simons is emerging from.

Liverpool do like Morgan Rogers, but Aston Villa insist he won’t be sold.

‘Richard Hughes has done his work’

“Liverpool are going to have a huge summer, they are going to strike whilst the iron is hot,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“Arne Slot knows what the squad needs, not a lot but there are areas they want to improve and Richard Hughes has done his work.

“In terms of their back line, Liverpool are looking to bring in a new left-back, a new centre-back, and maybe a right-back.

“Further up the pitch, the Reds will be looking for a new striker, and then this creative player – maybe LW and CAM.

“What’s also interesting is that Liverpool want more from their midfield.

“A new No. 9 is one of the priorities, but they need to replace the creativity that they are losing in Trent and they are planning on that, as well as bolstering their defensive options.”
