Chelsea willing to use £25m wonderkid to outsmart Arsenal and land Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens

Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens is attracting strong interest from several Premier League clubs after impressing in the Bundesliga.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with Gittens, but face stiff competition as several other clubs are interested in signing the talented winger including Arsenal and Tottenham.

Reports have suggested that Arsenal are likelier to sign Gittens, who shares the same agent as Bukayo Saka.

However, despite Gittens’ apparent preference, Chelsea could still outsmart Arsenal and seal a deal for the Dortmund youngster.

Chelsea’s plan to beat Arsenal to Jamie Gittens using Carney Chukwuemeka

Chelsea’s young winger Carney Chukwuemeka, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is said to have made a strong impression during his time in Germany.

Fabrizio Romano reported on X last month that Dortmund are keen to keep Chukwuemeka beyond his current loan spell, with talks set to take place with Chelsea.

There is also an option for Dortmund to sign him permanently for a fee of around £25 million, contingent on the club qualifying for the Champions League.

Considering Dortmund’s strong interest in signing Chukwuemeka, Chelsea could potentially use their youngster as part of a player-plus-cash deal to get the edge over the likes of Arsenal and secure the signing of Gittens.

Such a deal could give the Blues the edge they need to outmanoeuvre their rivals and land the highly rated winger.

Chelsea preparing a lucrative offer for Gittens

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Chelsea plan to tempt the 20-year-old by doubling his current wages along with a lucrative contract.

The Blues are reportedly ready to hand him a contract running until 2030.

While Borussia Dortmund are said to be demanding a fee close to £85 million, negotiations could see that figure reduced to around £50 million.

The young attacker has been incredible for Dortmund this season, scoring eight goals and assisting another four in 30 league games so far. Across all competitions, he has racked up twelve goals and five assists in 46 appearances.

Competition Games Goals Assists
Bundesliga 30 8 4
UEFA Champions League 14 4 1
DFB-Pokal 2 0 0
Total 46 12 5

The Blues are looking to sweeten the deal with Dortmund by including their young attacker in a potential player-plus-cash offer, while also preparing a significantly more lucrative contract for the player in a bid to outwit their rivals and secure the highly rated winger.

With the winger already proving himself in Europe’s top competitions, he has the tools to thrive in the Premier League — and the Blues are working hard to ensure he does so in West London.
