Newcastle United should be looking to make some big changes in the upcoming summer transfer window. The future of their attacker, Callum Wilson, is unclear, and hence, the Magpies will be targeting more attacking qualities to strengthen their team. Caught Offside has reported that Newcastle are interested in the services of Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton. His contract ends this summer, and the Magpies are looking to sign him for free.

Newcastle United Get Green Light Regarding Signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin

The Everton manager, David Moyes, has confirmed that the club won’t be offering a new contract to their striker. So, Newcastle United have got the green light to sign the striker in the summer. If we talk about his stats, Calvert-Lewin has scored three goals in 23 matches so far in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. Overall, his goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.17. Moreover, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s total G/A (goals + assists) is four for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.23 per 90 minutes. His Non-Penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.30.

Should they make a move for him?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Everton’s 27-year-old striker, is a powerful presence up front. He is known for his strength in the air and his knack for finding the back of the net. Athletic and hardworking, he is great at holding up the ball and making smart runs inside the box. The Everton striker doesn’t just attack—he also helps out defensively and links up well with teammates. While he has all the tools to be a top striker, staying consistent is what will take his game to the next level.

However, Everton have to be wary of the injury records of the player, despite his quality. Although they are in need of quality in attack, his record in goal scoring and the fitness issues won’t make him a perfect fit for the Magpies. So, from my point of view, the club should not be going hard for the Everton striker. Now, we have to wait and watch what finally happens in the summer transfer window.
