The south Londoners could embark on the summer transfer window as a UEFA Europa League side for the first time ever – should they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final – which would potentially open the door to a higher calibre of signing this summer.

In the meantime, Crystal Palace are exploring potential signings who would be happy to arrive regardless of European football, and Oliver Glasner – who Tottenham like – now looks set to welcome a player Eberechi Eze knows well to Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace reach agreement with Bright Osayi-Samuel

Fotomac in Turkey now state that Crystal Palace have agreed a contract with Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The Nigeria international sees his deal with Fenerbahce expire in June, and is targeting a return to England instead of signing fresh terms with the Turkish giants.

Fotomac believe Crystal Palace have offered Osayi-Samuel a deal running until June 2029 worth €4.5m (£3.8m) annually, which equates to roughly £73,000-a-week, which the right-back has now accepted.

Eze will be pleased, having previously played with the Fenerbahce No.21 at QPR.

The pair made 66 appearances together in west London, with the Crystal Palace No.10 previously saying: “Me and Bright weren’t in the same school team. We were in the same district team. It’s a blessing because you don’t usually get to work with people you’ve grown up with.

“He’s like a brother to me, so it’s good to share the field with him and it makes everything we do even more special.”

However, Eze could leave Crystal Palace this summer, so the duo may not get the chance to play together in SE25.

Bright Osayi-Samuel loves Jose Mourinho

The 27-year-old must have a very strong desire to return to London, as he seems to be enjoying life under Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce.

Osayi-Samuel hailed the Portuguese tactician, a legend of football management, saying in November 2024: “He’s like a father figure, but if you get on his wrong side, he can be your biggest enemy. Overall, though, I love him so much.

“He’s done so much for me so far, and he’s the best manager I’ve ever had, and I have had him for less than six months. I just want to keep learning as much as possible under him and improve as a player.”

The feeling seems mutual, as Mourinho has handed Osayi-Samuel 26 starts across all competitions so far this season, and 35 appearances in total.
