Wolves lineup vs. Brighton: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Jorgen Strand Larsen returns

2 Min Read

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen should be given the green light to return to the matchday squad for Saturday’s Premier League showdown with Brighton & Hove Albion at Molineux.

The Scandinavian was ruled out of last Friday’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City with a groin complaint, although head coach Vitor Pereira stressed at the time that his concern was only a minor one.

Pereira should give a firm update to the media in due course, but there is ostensibly a strong chance that Strand Larsen will be fine to feature here, where he will most likely force his way straight back into the first XI.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde will likely be sacrificed to accommodate the returning Strand Larsen, who will operate alongside Marshall Munetsi and talisman Matheus Cunha in the final third.

While Cunha’s contributions have often stolen the headlines, marauding left wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is the first Wolves defender to have registered 10 direct goal involvements in a single Premier League season, four of his own and seven assists.

Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo should hold their spots on the flanks, while Brazilian duo Andre and Joao Gomes are immovable in midfield, although Tommy Doyle should be pushing for more minutes between now and the end of the season.

Jose Sa, Emmanuel Agbadou, Toti and Matt Doherty are expected to form a familiar backline for Wolves, who are still without Sam Johnstone (unspecified), Sasa Kalajdzic, Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera and Leon Chiwone (all knee) due to injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting lineup:
Sa; Doherty, Agbadou, Toti; Semedo, Andre, Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Munetsi, Cunha; Larsen
