Barcelona are expected to have Alejandro Balde back in their starting side for Sunday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid.
The left-back has been on the sidelines in recent weeks with a hamstring problem, but the Spain international was back in training on Thursday, and the expectation is that he will be fit to start for the La Liga leaders this weekend.
Inigo Martinez has also overcome a muscular problem which he suffered in the latter stages of Tuesday’s 4-3 defeat to Inter Milan in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.
Marc Bernal and Jules Kounde are definitely out of action, while neither Pablo Torre nor Marc Casado are expected to be ready, with Barcelona being cautious when it comes to the latter’s recovery from a knee injury.
Robert Lewandowski made his return off the bench against Inter, with the striker back after a hamstring issue, and the Poland international is set to feature in the starting XI against Real Madrid.
Head coach Flick also has a big decision to make when it comes to the goalkeeping spot, as number one Marc-Andre ter Stegen is fit after a long spell out with a knee injury, and he could be given the nod over Wojciech Szczesny.
Eric Garcia will continue at right-back in the absence of Kounde, while there should again be a start in the number 10 spot for Dani Olmo, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha operating in the wide positions.
Barcelona possible starting lineup: Ter Stegen; E Garcia, Cubarsi, Martinez, Balde; Pedri, De Jong; Yamal, Olmo, Raphinha; Lewandowski
