Mikel Arteta sets incredibly high standards at Arsenal.

Indeed, if there’s any manager in the Premier League who won’t suffer any fools, it’s Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard has made some cut-throat decisions at Arsenal over the years owing to setting high standards in terms of professionalism.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil were released by Mikel Arteta, while Mateo Guendouzi was frozen out by Arteta at the Emirates.

Arteta wants his players to be ultra-professional and ultra-committed, and he’s very much instilled that culture at Arsenal.

Indeed, Arsenal have a number of players who work incredibly hard on and off the pitch.

Kai Havertz’s professionalism has been hailed in recent times, while Gabriel Magalhaes is the hardest worker at Arsenal according to some.

Speaking to ESPN, Gabriel Martinelli has now also made an interesting claim about Martin Odegaard in Arsenal training.

Martin Odegaard is always first to Arsenal training

Martinelli was taking part in a challenge where he had to name which Arsenal player was the most likely to do a certain thing.

The Brazilian was asked to name which of his teammates was most likely to turn up first to training, and he noted that Martin Odegaard is the player who is always the first person through the door at London Colney.

Odegaard’s captaincy at Arsenal has been questioned recently, but he’s clearly leading by example on this front.

Odegaard has been criticised for his performances as of late, but, by the sounds of things, he’s still a great leader and a true professional.

What Kai Havertz said about Martin Odegaard in training

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Odegaard doing the right things in training.

Turning up early is one thing, but, by the sounds of it, the £30m man is also one of the best players in these sessions as well.

Indeed, Kai Havertz hailed Odegaard for his performances in training last year.

“I think the connection with him was there from the first second, to be honest. I loved him always as a player, I used to watch him a lot, especially the season before I came to Arsenal, when we played them,” Havertz said.

“He’s ridiculous in what he does, not only in the game but in training, it’s crazy, like, I don’t know, you follow him and he has the ball in front of you and he just does those movements and I’m like ‘where do I go now?’

“Everyone is thinking like ‘how is he doing that?’ He plays so simple, he plays so easy but he always, like, plays so dangerous as well.”

Odegaard has been off the boil in terms of his form in matches recently, but if he keeps doing the right things in training, he’ll soon be back to his best.
