It’s a no brainer. Right?

Bayern Munich’s priority in the coming summer is to pluck Florian Wirtz away from Bayer Leverkusen, with the former negotiating with the latter for a fee. Die Werkself wants €150 million all in while the Rekordmeister believes it can lower the price. Bayern has a (not-so) secret weapon that might give it some leverage in the deal:

Uli Hoeneß is trying to convince Adidas to help with the financing of a potential Florian Wirtz transfer to FC Bayern. Wirtz is an Adidas athlete, and for them the prospect of him joining an Adidas sponsored club is attractive, especially since Bayer Leverkusen are getting New Balance as new kit sponsor.

Bayern will look to use their deal with Adidas to sign Wirtz. With Xabi Alonso rumored to bolt for Real Madrid (who won’t sign Wirtz because of the price), the 22-year-old might fancy a club whose sponsor, well, sponsors him and the club he plays for.
