The Gunners need reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch, and even though the summer window is still over a month away, work is being done to bring in new players.

TBR can confirm that Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Zubimendi after Berta accelerated talks with Real Sociedad in recent weeks.

Now, the Arsenal sporting director is busy working on other deals.

Andrea Berta’s plans at Arsenal after agreeing deal for Martin Zubimendi

Martin Zubimendi has been a target for Arsenal for a long time now.

The Gunners had previously tried to bring him in, but the Spaniard was always reluctant to leave Real Sociedad. But now, Zubimendi has decided to make the move to London.

Arsenal fans will be delighted with the news, but Andrea Berta is nowhere near done.

The Italian is busy working behind the scenes at Arsenal following the Zubimendi deal – not just on incomings but on player contracts as well.

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, has revealed that Berta is spending a lot of his time on signing a new striker.

He said: “Berta is busy on incomings. There is no disputing that a new number nine is where most of his time is being spent.

“Whether that is next, time will tell, but it is seemingly looking more and more likely to be Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko, but that still isn’t certain.”

Andrea Berta’s internal plans at Arsenal

Arsenal fans are fully focused on incomings, but there is a lot of work left to be done within the club as well.

Multiple players will enter the final two years of their contracts this summer, and as TBR previously reported, Berta wants to extend the deals of three key Arsenal names.

That, Bailey reveals, is just as much a priority as the Zubimendi deal, and talks are now underway to get them done.

“Berta is also working hard on new deals for his own players,” Bailey said.

“One of their main objectives this summer, as well as Zubimendi, was getting new deals done for William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes, and talks have taken place with all three camps.”
