Liverpool are Premier League champions, and they’ve won the league in some style.

A number of Liverpool’s players have been brilliant this season.

However, the most credit has to go to Arne Slot.

Slot has taken to life at Anfield like a duck to water, and speaking on his podcast, even Kyle Walker has reserved some praise for the Dutchman, albeit through gritted teeth.

Kyle Walker hails Arne Slot

As a Manchester City legend, Walker didn’t want to be too gushing in his praise for Liverpool.

However, even Walker had to hold his hands up and admit that Slot has been special this season.

Walker says it took a lot for him to admit this about the Liverpool boss, but he gave him his due credit.

“Now let’s talk about Liverpool, winning obviously the Premier League. I think they’ve been good, I think they’ve deservedly won this Premier League, I think for a manager to come in and do what he’s done in his first season is special. It took a lot for me to say that, but I think you have to give credit where credit’s due,” Walker said.

“They’ve been the best team by far in the league and a massive congratulations to that team, obviously winning 20 now, going joint with Manchester United. So it’s something that comes out of my mouth very easily, but I’d like to say definitely for myself, a massive congratulations to Liverpool on winning the league. It’s a long slog for the Premier League, 38 games, and it’s 38 games of grind.

“So I’ve been very fortunate to win it six times. I’ll just drop that in. But I do have to say a massive, massive congratulations and fully deserved.”

Managers to win the Premier League in their first season

Walker says it’s a special achievement for Slot to win the Premier League in his first season in England, and he’s not wrong.

Indeed, only the best of the best have been able to do this over the years, and now, Arne Slot is among that pantheon of greats.

Regardless of what happens from here on in for Slot at Liverpool, he will always be regarded as a Premier League great.

Slot has transformed a number of players this season, and the job he has done at Liverpool is nothing short of a managerial masterclass.

With a big summer on the horizon, Liverpool will be looking to go again next season, and, who knows? Perhaps even a seventh European Cup could be on the agenda for the Reds next year.
