What Barcelona need to win LaLiga against Real Madrid: fixtures and matches until the end

Barcelona and Real Madrid will play a decisive match on Sunday in the race for LaLiga. Xavi’s side have a four-point lead over Carlo Ancelotti‘s team, so a win would practically ensure them the championship. A draw would also be good for the Catalans. However, a victory for Los Blancos would turn the situation around as they would be only one point behind and with a better calendar. These are the options for each team:

In this case, LaLiga would be virtually decided. If Flick’s side win, they would pull seven points clear of their rivals with only nine points left to play for.
A victory in any of the remaining three rounds would be enough to be champions regardless of what Madrid did. They could be champions in next Thursday’s match at Espanyol if they get the three points.

In this case, the difference would remain at four points. To be champions, Barcelona would need two wins in the three games they would have left to play: Espanyol at Cornella, Villarreal at Montjuic and Athletic at San Mames. If they get them, it would not matter what Real Madrid did. The Blaugrana could be crowned champions in the next matchday at Espanyol’s ground, if Real Madrid do not beat Mallorca. In the event of a draw against the Balearic side and a win for the Catalans in Cornella, the difference would be six points. The goal average would then come into play, which would be in favour of the Catalans, who won 4-0 at the Bernabeu.

In this scenario, the situation would be considerably more even because the distance would be reduced to a single point and the combinations would be multiple.
Basically, for Barcelona to be champions, they would have to win their match if Real Madrid do the same with theirs in each matchday. This would keep the difference of one point. Los Blancos still have to play against Mallorca and Real Sociedad at home and with Sevilla away. If Madrid were to draw a match, Barcelona could afford to lose one because although they would then be level on points, it seems unlikely that Los Blancos will recover the +4 goal average that the Catalans have.
