A requirement for being a reporter is to be utterly shameless.
Bayern Munich’s efforts to sign Florian Wirtz have been one of the main talking points at Bayern Munich. The 22-year-old seems on his way out of competitors Bayer Leverkusen and recent rumors indicate that Bayern already have an agreement with him.
But Wirtz’s potential move has not the biggest talking point and certainly was not on Saturday. Instead, the team was celebrating both winning the Bundesliga and the nearing end of Thomas Müller’s 25 year career in Munich.
Therefore, when board member for sport Max Eberl was asked about if an agreement had been reached with Wirtz, he laughed it off:
“Today is not the day to talk about that,” Eberl followed up, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “Today is a day to celebrate, with the focus being Thomas Müller. Then we’ll see what happens.”
He has a very good point. Today was all about Thomas Müller. We have all the time in the world for transfer talk later.
