Cameras spot what Evangelos Marinakis did immediately after viral Nuno Espírito Santo exchange

Marinakis remonstrated with Nuno on the pitch before being forced to clarify the incident.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was captured on camera seconds after a heated exchange with manager Nuno Espírito Santo at the City Ground.

Forest drew 2-2 with Leicester on Sunday afternoon in a result which secured European football for next season.

However, it could also prove to be two points dropped in the race for Champions League football.

Forest remain in seventh place in the Premier League on 62 points – one behind fifth-placed Chelsea.

Shortly after the full-time whistle, Forest owner Marinakis – who announced this week that he was diluting his shares in the club – strode onto the pitch and immediately pointed towards something he was not happy with.

After spotting his manager embracing Leicester midfielder Oliver Skipp – who Nuno managed at Tottenham – Marinakis turned around before remonstrating with the Portuguese.

Nuno later clarified that there were no tensions between the pair and that Marinakis was unhappy with an incident during the game that saw Forest briefly reduced to 10 players.

The Greek owner would then state that he was ‘frustrated around the injury to Taiwo [Awoniyi, Forest striker] and the medical staff’s misjudgement on Taiwo’s ability to continue the game’.

But Marinakis’ angry reaction continued even after he stopped remonstrating with Nuno.

Cameras captured the Forest owner kicking a cone over as he walked off the pitch and towards the tunnel.

It is not the first time Marinakis has entered the playing area as Forest owner after a game in either the Premier League or the Championship.

And back in October, he was given a five-match stadium ban by the FA after he was found to have spat on the floor in the tunnel area – in front of match officials – after Forest’s Premier League clash against Fulham.

The FA stated that Marinakis had ‘significantly undermine[d] respect for the game of football’ with his actions as they dismissed an appeal against the sanction in November.
