Now we’ve seen it all…
When it comes to missing bird trinkets, Bild is on the scene with the hard-hitting journalism.
On Saturday, a mysterious cockatoo appeared during Bayern Munich championship celebration after the team’s 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. It was revealed that the item was borrowed from the Käfer restaurant, where the Bavarians watched Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw with SC Freiburg last week.
Now, the owner of said cockatoo is ready to speak — and has even gifted the cockatoo to the team.
“This makes me incredibly proud. I’ll write to the coach and Max Eberl on Monday: Please feel free to keep the cockatoo at Bayern as long as possible. Maybe it’s a lucky charm so they can win other titles soon. I just saw it online; it’s a great story for us. I don’t want the cockatoo back. It should stay at Bayern and bring Kompany and the team lots of luck,” said restaurant owner Michael Käfer told Bild’s Heiko Niedderer (via @iMiaSanMia). “They were just in a really good mood and having fun. That’s the beauty of it, they had fun and then they took it with them. It’s made of porcelain and is probably worth around 1000 euros”
