Bayern is developing in the right direction.
There have been plenty of ups and downs this season for Bayern Munich. Returning the club to the perch of German football, the team pulling in the same direction and the football becoming a lot more attractive are the main ups this season, but the exit in the third round of the DFB-Pokal and multiple big losses in the Champions League were rather disappointing.
No one will argue that Bayern are at the top of European football or anything, but there is the sense that the club is developing in the right direction, a sentiment that Joshua Kimmich echoed after the 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach:
“After last season, we had a lot of fun again this season because of the way we played football,” the Germany captain said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “We know not everything was perfect and we still have a lot of work ahead of us, but I have confidence in the team and the coach [Vincent Kompany].”
That kind of confidence can only bode well for the future.
