Nico Williams has been high up on Arsenal’s list of summer transfer targets for a while.
Arsenal will happily pay Bilbao star Williams’ wages of £250,000-a-week — which shows how highly they rate his talent.
The Spaniard is one of the best young left-wingers in the world and alongside Bukayo Saka, the pair could form one of the most dangerous wide duos in European football.
Andrea Berta has held talks with Williams already and while the Italian is convinced by the move, the 22-year-old is yet to come to a conclusion about his future.

Arsenal think Nico Williams is the ideal competitor for Gabriel Martinelli
With Nico Williams already proving his worth at not just club level but for the Spanish national team as well, all the signs suggest that he would have an instant impact at the Emirates Stadium.
Even Liverpool admire Arsenal target Williams as he looks like he could become one of the leaders of the next generation alongside the likes of Yamal and Jude Bellingham to name a few.
The Daily Mail initially reported that Williams is Arsenal’s primary target to bolster the left-wing position.
Furthermore, the Gunners’ desire to sign a brand-new left-winger stretches back to a year ago.
But most notably, in Williams, Arsenal view a player who would be perfect to compete with Gabriel Martinelli.
However, Chelsea’s interest in Williams worries Arsenal with some senior figures having their concerns.
Arsenal are targeting two other left-wingers
However, in case Williams decides to head elsewhere, Arsenal have contingency plans in place.
The aforementioned report mentions that their alternatives are Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.
Arsenal are working on signing Gittens and the good news for them is that the former Manchester City wideman’s priority is a return to England.

However, even Chelsea are interested in signing Gittens and are planning to use Carney Chukwuemeka in a potential deal.
Rafael Leao has been on Arsenal’s radar for a while too but if he does depart San Siro, several clubs could amplify their efforts to sign him.
