Liverpool entertained Arsenal at Anfield earlier this evening as they looked to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 20th minute when Cody Gakpo found the back of the net from close range. Luis Diaz doubled Liverpool’s advantage just a minute later as Arne Slot’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.

Gabriel Martinelli got a goal back for the Gunners in the 47th minute before Mikel Merino equalised for them in the 70th minute. Liverpool found themselves at a numerical advantage in the 79th minute when Merino was sent off by the referee. However, the Reds ended up playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the clash against the Gunners.

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

The Brazilian keeper made his fair share of saves at the back but conceded twice in the second half.

RB: Conor Bradley – 6.5/10

He was solid at the back and was a strong presence in the air.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 6/10

Konate put his foot through the ball when required and was accurate with his ball distribution.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 6/10

He cleared his lines when he could but conceded two cheap goals in the second half.

LB: Andrew Robertson – 7/10

He did his fair share of defending and was lively going forward. Robertson ended the game with an assist to his name.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch – 5.5/10

Gravenberch anchored the midfield well at times but lacked quality in the opposition half.

CM: Curtis Jones – 7/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and was replaced after the hour mark.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 6.5/10

Salah made two key chances in the final third but struggled to threaten the Arsenal goal.

CAM: Dominik Szoboszlai – 7.5/10

He caught the eye at times in the final third and ended the game with an assist to his name.

LW: Cody Gakpo – 7/10

Gakpo caused some headaches for his marker and managed to score the opener in the 20th minute.

ST: Luis Diaz – 7/10

He was a real threat in the final third and managed to score in the 21st minute.

Substitutes:

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 6/10

He added some energy to Slot’s midfield.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6/10

Alexander-Arnold failed to impress after coming off the bench.

ST: Darwin Nunez – 6/10

His impact on the game was minimal.

ST: Diogo Jota – 6/10

He failed to take his chances.

CM: Harvey Elliott – N/A
