In Andrea Berta’s first transfer window at Arsenal there will be several moving pieces.

Arsenal should meet Rodrigo Mora’s release clauseRodrigo Mora can thrive alongside Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman

Arsenal have agreed to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad already, but the club’s spending won’t stop there.

The Gunners want to sign a striker and Arsenal have held talks with Benjamin Sesko among others.

And then there’s the desire to buy a new left winger — Arsenal have spoken to Nico Williams and there’s genuine hope that the Spaniard will follow Zubimendi to north London.

Of course, Arsenal could recruit more than three players, especially on the basis that a fair few could leave.

Jakub Kiwior wants to leave Arsenal for example, even if Berta is willing to hand the Polish defender a new contract.

Arsenal should meet Rodrigo Mora’s release clause

Whilst Arsenal do want all of the names mentioned, it’s unlikely to be that easy — Arsenal will feel incredibly lucky if Zubimendi, Sesko and Williams are all playing together next season.

And therefore, amid the surprises that the coming summer might provide, Arsenal should actually consider a move for Rodrigo Mora at FC Porto.

18-year-old Mora is currently playing alongside Fabio Vieira in Portugal, a player Arsenal might even be able to use in a deal for the youngster.

Right now, Chelsea are hoovering up so much of the world’s best young talent, and it’s time for Arsenal to get involved.

Mora is a creative playmaker, someone quite similar to Martin Odegaard and Vieira in some respects.

And with more minutes for Porto’s first team this season, the young midfielder is justifying why one Portuguese coach once claimed that Mora “sees the game like no one I’ve ever coached.”

Mora has a £60m release clause right now, one that’s bound to increase in the future if he stays at Porto, and Arsenal should consider an audacious bid.

Rodrigo Mora can thrive alongside Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman

In terms of what Mora could bring to Arsenal, he could fit brilliantly in either advanced position in Arteta’s midfield.

Positionally, Mora has a similar profile to both Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman — two of the best youngsters the Hale End Academy has ever produced.

Dowman is amazing Arsenal’s coaches on a weekly basis right now for the U18s, someone who Arteta will already be excited to bring through to the seniors.

And whilst some might think that having all of Mora, Nwaneri and Dowman would be excessive, such a rich pool of talent should only be seen as a positive luxury.

Arsenal have been lacking x-factor in attack at times in recent years and that’s certainly something that Mora could provide for the next decade in N5.

Arsenal might regret not signing Joao Neves in the past, a young Portuguese talent who was brilliant for Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League meeting.

And Mora is also one that the Gunners shouldn’t let slip away.
