After all the potential defensive departures, the club could use this one.

Bayern Munich could potentially see the departure of more than one defensive player this summer, with Kim Min-jae, Eric Dier, and even Dayot Upamecano rumored to exit the club soon. This could leave them in a bit of an issue, unless they replace the departing defenders sooner than later.

Attempting to achieve that, Bayern seems to be interested in multiple defenders from across Europe. One of them, per a report captured by @iMiaSanMia, is Joane Gadou, an 18-year-old talent currently playing for RB Salzburg. According to the same report, Christoph Freund has confirmed the club’s interest in Gadou.

“We’re noticing how well he’s playing. He has given the defense tremendous stability alongside Sammy Baidoo,” said Freund.

Bayern has reportedly been scouting the same player for some time now, but will find themselves in a greater need this transfer window. Fans are questioning whether it’s wise to sign on a developing player, who will definitely need plenty of time on the pitch, or to be on the safer side and sign a well established defender, considering the hole that is soon going to be left in the back line.
