“We’ve had a long, hard season and this is the reward we get.”

Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga after a year in waiting. This year’s win was emphatic — the Bavarians were clearly ahead past Matchday 30, and following the 2-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach, they lifted the Meisterschale at home. There were important firsts and lasts — Harry Kane’s first trophy and Thomas Muller’s last Bundesliga trophy with Bayern.

The former winning his first ever trophy has been met with praise from all — the world of football is simply happy to see such an illustrious player finally be rewarded for years of effort.

The feel of one’s first trophy is unbeatable and the former Tottenham Hotspur star spoke about his maiden trophy to Cleats Club (as transcribed by @iMiaSanMia).

“It’s actually heavier than I thought it was going to be. I don’t know how much it weighs. Especially when it got wet with the beer, it was hard to grip hold of,” he explained. The ‘schale weighs 11kgs (24.25lbs), the silver body and tourmalines contributing to its mass.

“It felt good. It felt like it had been earned. To lift that was an amazing feeling. The celebrations have been really good,” he raved about the feeling of lifting his first trophy.

“It was an amazing night – to have all my family there after and to celebrate with everyone on the pitch. We’ve had a long, hard season and this is the reward we get,” the English skipper declared.

Certainly, this is a well-deserved trophy. Congrats Harry!
