Carlo Ancelotti will become Brazil’s head coach after the current season with Real Madrid wraps up. Although his official debut is set for June, plans are already underway within the CBF to shape his coaching staff. This will be Ancelotti’s first experience managing a national team, and reports suggest Brazil may want a former player alongside him.

The long-anticipated announcement of Carlo Ancelotti as the next head coach of the Brazilian national team has begun to take shape. While the Italian manager will officially assume the role once the current La Liga season concludes with Real Madrid, his future with the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) is already taking form behind the scenes.

This new chapter marks Ancelotti’s first-ever experience in international management, and reports suggest he may not be joined by his son and longtime assistant, Davide Ancelotti, for this venture. As preparations begin for his transition, the CBF is reportedly eager to include a former Brazilian player in the coaching staff to help smooth the adaptation and bring added credibility within the squad.

According to CNN Brasil journalist Benjamin Back, one high-profile name is already being considered: Kaká. The Brazilian legend and former Ballon d’Or winner is being eyed as a potential addition to Ancelotti’s technical staff—a familiar face for the Italian coach and a respected figure within Brazilian football.

A shared history

Ancelotti and Kaká have a long-standing professional relationship, having worked together at AC Milan and later at Real Madrid. Under Ancelotti’s guidance, Kaká played a combined 270 matches across both clubs and enjoyed some of the most successful years of his career. Their mutual respect and understanding could make Kaká a valuable asset in the transition to international management.

What’s next for Ancelotti and Brazil?

Ancelotti’s first matches in charge of Brazil are scheduled for June 5 against Ecuador and June 10 against Paraguay, as part of preparations for the upcoming South American competitions. With expectations sky-high and the weight of Brazil’s footballing legacy on his shoulders, “Carletto” embarks on one of the most significant challenges of his illustrious career.
