TBR Football previously confirmed that Huijsen’s camp have already spoken to several Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

However, the Premier League giants are set to be up against the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in pursuit of the Bournemouth ace.

Now, Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has made a claim about Huijsen that will be music to the ears of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Arsenal and Liverpool in pole position for Dean Huijsen

Plettenberg has taken to X to say Arsenal and Liverpool are currently in pole position for Dean Huijsen, with a decision expected “soon”.

In addition, Plettenberg has reported that Bayern are unlikely to sign him, as they need to sell players in order to raise the necessary funds.

In addition, Plettenberg reiterated that Huijsen’s £50million release clause can be paid in three separate instalments.

Why Dean Huijsen could prove to be one of the bargains of the decade

At just 19 years of age, Huijsen has shown that he’s head and shoulders above most of his peers in the Premier League.

Bournemouth director Tiago Pinto recently claimed that Huijsen is already one of the best defenders in the world and, by 2027, he’ll be the very best.

Pinto recently said: “When Huijsen arrived in Rome, two days later his teammates were asking me where I had found someone like him.

“For me today he is one of the five best central defenders in the world and in two years he will be the best.

“Signing Huijsen is like taking a lottery ticket knowing that it is already a winner.”

Pinto continued: “Because of his family, Dean has grown to be the number one.

“He has a crazy mentality, crazy self-confidence, he is a very intelligent boy, he speaks five languages and has incredible support from his family. It can’t go badly.”

Virgil van Dijk cost Liverpool £75million and he has repaid that fee many times over with his heroics for the Reds over the years.

If Huijsen enjoys a career even half as good as that of Van Dijk, £50million would prove to be an absolute bargain.
