Chelsea make Garnacho contact

1 Min Read

Chelsea, who are in the market for a left-sided forward this summer, have made contact with Manchester United about the availability of Alejandro Garnacho.

United who have slapped a ₤60 million price tag on the Argentine’s head, are set to sanction his departure, with Matheus Cunha of Wolves already earmarked as his replacement.

Garnacho came close to leaving Old Trafford in January, having grown frustrated with life under Rúben Amórim, and Chelsea were one of the clubs linked with him then, along with Napoli.

And Chelsea’s interest also likely signals the end of Jadon Sancho’s time at Stamford Bridge although they still find themselves in the invidious position of having either to exercise their option to buy him, or pay an additional sum to his parent club, United, in exchange for relinquishing that option.

Still just 20, Garnacho has already made 140 senior appearances for United, scoring 26 times for them.
