Peter Crouch reacts to Arne Slot in Ibiza picture with brilliant four-word response

Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has reacted to a picture circulating on social media of Arne Slot enjoying an Ocean Beach party in Ibiza with Wayne Lineker.

“Arne’s not messing about!” Crouch posted on social media. He was quote-tweeting a post from a page called Anything Liverpool that read: “Arne Slot and Wayne Lineker. Crazy link up.”

Liverpool wrapped up the Premier League title with four games to spare and has since lost to Chelsea and drawn with Arsenal. The Reds are not back in action again in the top flight until Monday when Slot’s men take on Brighton on the south coast.

In the meantime, the Liverpool players and coaching staff have been enjoying some well-earned time off with nothing to play for on the pitch. Some Reds stars have been filmed on a boat trip together, with a suggestion of them being in Dubai.

Ocean Beach is a regular destination for Premier League stars and other celebrities. Lineker posted a picture of embracing Slot, along with the instruction: “Caption this” for his followers on Instagram.

Liverpool still has two Premier League games left to play this season, taking on Brighton and Crystal Palace. After the second game, which is the final one at Anfield in this campaign, Virgil van Dijk will lift the league title trophy.

The following day, the Premier League trophy will be paraded around the city. On Monday, May 26, Van Dijk and the rest of the Liverpool players will enjoy an open-top bus parade to celebrate their success.

“Very, very happy, of course,” Slot said when the Premier League title had been confirmed. “But to a certain extent also quite unreal because you work so hard for this moment to happen.

“When it then does happen, it needs some time for you to truly feel it. But the fans were so happy that it didn’t take us long, didn’t take me long to understand what we’ve achieved together this season.

“The moment I knew I would become the new head coach over here, that’s already a moment that you’re so proud of to be part of such a great football club.

“Then now to be part of the history of this football club is something I think I could only have dreamt of two, three or four years ago.”

Liverpool.com says: Slot has been a fantastic appointment at Anfield, taking over from Jurgen Klopp and overseeing a seamless transition. He should win the Premier League Manager of the Year award as a result, with replacing such a big club legend no easy task, as Manchester United continue to prove.

Next season, the challenge will be for Slot to kick on again and take Liverpool to the next level. In the meantime, taking a break given how relentless the schedule is when the season is on is a sensible idea.
