The Seattle Sounders will be looking to secure three wins on the spin for the first time since October when they journey to the BMO to face Los Angeles FC on Thursday morning.

The Black and Gold head into the weekend with the second-best home record in the Western Conference, having picked up four wins and one draw from their five matches so far, and will look to extend this fine run.

Los Angeles FC were left red-faced on Monday morning when they played out a 2-2 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps after giving away a two-goal lead at BC Place.

Marky Delgado and Dennis Bouanga hit the target inside the opening 20 minutes but Brian White took matters into his own hands, netting in the 26th minute to half the deficit before restoring parity with a 70th-minute strike.

Los Angeles have now failed to taste victory in five back-to-back away games and have managed just one win all season while losing six and claiming two draws from their nine outings on the road so far.

However, Steven Cherundolo‘s men now return home unbeaten in five straight games, picking up two wins and losing three, having managed just two wins from the previous eight outings across all competitions.

Los Angeles have enjoyed a decent start to the 2025 MLS campaign as they sit sixth in the Western Conference standings with 18 points from the first 12 games, one point and one place behind Wednesday’s visitors.

Seattle Sounders, on the other hand, maintained their new-found form at the weekend as they made light work of 10-man Houston Dynamo in a 3-1 victory at the Shell Energy Stadium.

Daniel Musovski and Obafemi Awodesu scored for either side to end the first half level, but veteran midfielder Albert Rusnak grabbed a second-half brace to fire the visitors to a comfortable victory.

With that result, Seattle have gone five straight league matches without defeat, picking up four wins and one draw, having managed just one victory from the first seven games to start the campaign.

This upturn in form has been owing to the solid job done at the attacking end of the pitch, where Brian Schmetzer‘s side have scored 12 goals in their last five games, four more than their total tally after the first seven matches.

While Seattle will be looking to keep the momentum high and strengthen their position in the standings, next up is a trip to the BMO Stadium, where they have failed to win six of their last seven visits, losing five and claiming one draw since October 2020.

Team News

Los Angeles FC remain without the services of veteran defender Maxime Chanot, who has missed the last four games since coming off injured against San Jose Earthquakes on April 13.

He is joined on the Black and Gold’s injury table by Lorenzo Dellavalle, who continues his lengthy spell on the sidelines while Norwegian midfielder Odin Thiago Holmn has been ruled out since April through a leg problem.

With his strike against the Whitecaps, Bouanga has racked up seven goal involvements in his last five matches, scoring five goals and setting up two more, and the 30-year-old striker will be one to keep an eye on.

As for Seattle, Schmetzer will be unable to name American international Paul Arriola, who sustained a severe knee injury in the Champions Cup clash against Cruz Azul on March 12.

Fellow countryman Jordan Morris has missed each of the last two games since picking up a hamstring injury against Colorado Rapids on April 27 and the 30-year-old is also out of contention for the visitors.

Los Angeles FC possible starting lineup:
Lloris; Palencia, Long, Segura, Hollingshead; Tillman, Jesus; Delgado, Martinez, Ordaz; Bouanga

Seattle Sounders possible starting lineup:
Frei; Roldan, Kim, Gomez, Tolo; Roldan, Vargas; Rothrock, Rusnak, Kent; Musovski

We say: Los Angeles FC 2-1 Seattle Sounders

After weeks of inconsistent results, Los Angeles FC and Seattle Sounders have both upped the ante of late and will head into Thursday’s clash looking to keep the juggernaut rolling.

While Schmetzer’s men journey to the BMO Stadium as the more in-form side, home advantage gives the Black and Gold an extra edge here and we fancy them to come away with all three points, albeit by the odd goal.
