Liverpool are certainly taking advantage of wrapping up the Premier League title early.
The Reds are able to start transfer plans with more assurance compared to their Premier League rivals after sealing the title in April, with Liverpool aware of their budget compared to the likes of Chelsea, who still don’t know what European competition they will partake in next season.

TBR Football understand Liverpool have already opened talks to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid as recruitment gets underway at Anfield, while the Reds are also in advanced discussions to acquire Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
Now – according to Le Parisien – Liverpool have also started talks to sign Rayan Cherki from Lyon.
Liverpool in discussions over Rayan Cherki
The French news outlet now believe Liverpool have moved to ask about the France international, as Richard Hughes – Director of Football at Anfield – aims to improve the attacking department for Arne Slot.
Le Parisien state that Lyon have told Cherki he can leave if a bid worth €22.5m (£19m) is made – which is a very low sum for a player of this talent, but a direct consequence of the fact he only has 12 months left on his contract.

The story adds that Tottenham and Manchester City have also asked about the Frenchman, who can boast 12 goals and 19 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this season.

The Gunners are in need of some added attacking spark after losing both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus to serious injuries this season, which left Mikel Arteta with no option but to use a midfielder in Mikel Merino at striker.
Therefore, Liverpool have their work cut out to sign Cherki this summer, with several top clubs chasing his signature.
