Arsenal may have again been – albeit briefly – been in the running for this season’s Premier League title and reached the Champions League semi-finals, Mikel Arteta has endured a frustrating week with the Gunners.

An exit to Paris Saint-Germain on the continent was followed by his side starting slowly against Premier League champions Liverpool before battling back to salvage a 2-2 draw.

However, it represents considerable improvement to where Arsenal were in Arsene Wenger‘s final season in charge back in the 2017-18 campaign.

Two years on from finishing in second spot, the North Londoners could only earn sixth position, their lowest for more than two decades.

Arteta is still searching for the success that Wenger enjoyed between 1997 and 2004, a total of three top-flight crowns being lifted as the Gunners rivalled Manchester United and the emerging Chelsea.

Seven FA Cups were incredibly won during Wenger’s 22-year tenure, one which saw him accumulate 1,235 games and prevail in 707 of them.

That brings him to a win percentage of 57.2%. By comparison, Arteta is on 57.99% from 288 matches in charge, providing perspective of the job that the Spaniard is doing at the Emirates Stadium.

To mark what is the seventh-year anniversary of Wenger’s last game, Sports Mole challenges you to name his final starting XI, which was for a Premier League game against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium.
