In the summer, Arsenal cannot afford to be frugal as next season is the time when the Emirates faithful will be hoping for Mikel Arteta to deliver major silverware.

Under Arsene Wenger, Arsenal would often penny-pinch and as a result, the French legend failed to win the Premier League title since 2004 as well as the Champions League.

However, Declan Rice’s club-record addition in 2023 was a sign that the higher-ups at the Emirates Stadium have full faith in Mikel Arteta.

However, the Gunners are yet to strengthen in key areas of the pitch such as up front, with Gary Neville criticising Arsenal’s lack of a world-class striker amongst many other figures within the game.

Andrea Berta has been proactive at Arsenal and under his reign, the Italian will be hoping that the decision-makers loosen the purse strings, starting this summer.

Arsenal have a summer transfer budget of “at least” £100 million

If Arsenal do not splash the cash in the summer transfer window, it would be no surprise if even the players start to lose hope in Mikel Arteta’s project.

While Real Madrid consider William Saliba too expensive to sign at the end of the season, players like the Frenchman may refrain from signing new contracts if they sense a lack of ambition behind the scenes.

However, journalist Kaveh Solhekol has told Sky Sports News that Arsenal will have “at least” £100 million to spend on transfers, excluding the revenue they generate from potential sales.

“What I can tell you is that Mikel Arteta will be seriously backed in the transfer market this summer. He will have at least £100 million to spend plus any funds that are raised from selling players.”

“It’s important to stress that Arsenal are in a very healthy position financially. They’ve got no PSR issues. They realise obviously that finishing second is not good enough for their fans, they want to back Mikel Arteta this summer.”

Coming across a figure such as £100 million, Arsenal fans could be very worried that the amount might not suffice as they could need strengthening in several positions.

Viktor Gyokeres could cost Arsenal £60 million and his potential addition could eat into more than half of their reported transfer budget.

However, Andrea Berta could spend more than £300 million as he has eight targets in mind.

ANDREA BERTA’S EIGHT TRANSFER TARGETS
ALEXANDER ISAK
BENJAMIN SESKO
BRUNO GUIMARAES
MARTIN ZUBIMENDI
JOAN GARCIA
BUKAYO SAKA BACKUP
OLEKSANDR ZINCHENKO REPLACEMENT
NICO WILLIAMS
MATHEUS CUNHA

Berta helped Arsenal close in on Martin Zubimendi, who is set to cost £50 million already.

While the North Londoners might not shell out in excess of £300 million on new signings, it seems like they have big plans in store.
