Imagine Erling Haaland at Bayern Munich…
Bayern likely to miss on Huijsen (@Plettigoal)
It looks like Bayern Munich is going to get Bayer Leverkusen center-back Jonathan Tah, but it could be set to miss out on Bournemouth center-back Dean Huijsen — unless a few player sales are made.
Huijsen could be headed to Liverpool FC, while Real Madrid is also interested:
Understand that Arsenal and Liverpool are currently in pole position for Dean #Huijsen. A decision is expected soon. #LFC
Real Madrid remain keen on him.
A move to Bayern appears unlikely at this stage, as time is not on their side. To sign Huijsen, Bayern would need to make some sales — which haven’t happened yet. That’s why their focus is currently on Jonathan Tah, who is available as a free agent.
Huijsen’s £50m/€58m release clause can be paid in three instalments, as previously revealed.
Real Madrid’s interest could be even more serious than Plettenberg let on per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:
⚪️ Real Madrid had a direct contact with Dean Huijsen’s camp and player’s priority is confirmed.
Real also registered release clause details: £50m to be paid in 3 installments, not in one solution.
❗️ Timing will be key as Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to advance.
If you read between the lines, it seems as if Bayern Munich would need to sell Kim Min-jae (possible) and likely one of Kingsley Coman (possible, but not likely) or Serge Gnabry (very unlikely) to fund a deal for Huijsen.
That scenario seems like it could be a longshot.
As of now, it seems like a deal for Florian Wirtz is working from a completely different budget than any other potential moves for the summer.
Bayern planning to chase Haaland? (El Nacional via 90Min.com)
There is some likely unfounded speculation that Erling Haaland is unhappy at Manchester City, and even more rumors mongering that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain would be interested in the Norwegian:
Erling Haaland is disappointed with Manchester City’s recent performances and is considering triggering an exit clause in his contract as early as this summer. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are both tracking the Norwegian striker.
Given the massive expenditure that Bayern Munich seems about to drop for Florian Wirtz, a move for Haaland this summer is near impossible — unless Harry Kane moves on (which is very unlikely at this point). However, if Kane leaves in 2026 as expected and Haaland is available, Bayern Munich will 100% — at least — kick the tires on what it would take to get a deal done.

Marseille wants Sané (Get French Football News)
Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané is drawing interest from Olympique Marseille:
Olympique de Marseille guaranteed their return to European football over the weekend. After a torrid 2023/24 campaign, OM missed out entirely on a place in Europe but they are now guaranteed to finish on the podium in Ligue 1 this season, meaning that they will compete in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Medhi Benatia is therefore now preparing for a big transfer window with Marseille expected to invest heavily in their playing squad over the summer. However, free agent opportunities are also being explored by Les Phocéens. One particularly interesting option is Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané (29).
The Germany international is out of contract with the Bavarian side at the end of the season and L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi understands that OM have made contact with his entourage in order to sound out a potential summer move. Whilst an enquiry has been made, Sané would have considerable salary demands. Given OM’s ambitions this summer, that may not necessarily put them off making a concrete move.

Kane inspired by Brady (The Times via Goal)
Bayern Munich star Harry Kane drew inspiration from an unlikely source — former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers great Tom Brady:
Kane has told The Times: “I saw a lot of similarities between me and him. No one expected him to do it and it’s a story people can relate to, of hard work and never giving up.
“Self-belief has probably been my biggest strength throughout my career. No matter what, I’ve always done what I believed is right. That could be training, that could be matches, that could be telling someone they’re doing something wrong or not agreeing with what we’re doing as a team.
“I think when you’re confident in yourself and believe in what you’re doing, you have no fear, almost. I think back to Norwich and Leicester and I wasn’t playing but doing extra training and finishing and had some players laughing and saying, ‘I don’t know why you’re doing that’. All those little moments made me who I am.”
LFC expecting big summer (ESPN)
Liverpool FC could be looking at a multitude of changes to its roster for next season:
Liverpool boss Arne Slot will be given one of the club’s “biggest ever summer transfer budgets,” according to the Daily Telegraph. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will join from Valencia on July 1, with a No. 9 and a left-sided defender the main priorities. Bournemouth duo Huijsen and left-back Milos Kerkez are on the shortlist, along with Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak. But with the Magpies unlikely to entertain a deal, Liverpool are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike — but he would likely cost €80m. Darwin Núñez, Joe Gomez and Kostas Tsimikas are all set to move on.

Meanwhile, Africa Foot is reporting that United and Osimhen have also agreed on personal terms:
An agreement over personal terms has been reached between Man Utd and Osimhen, who may be able to leave Napoli for just €30m (£25.7m).
Müller addresses alleged simplicity of football (Der Spiegel via @iMiaSanMia)
When it comes to football, there is nary a mind like Thomas Müller in terms of processing the action. Here, the veteran discusses how people analyze the game.
“In the public football debate, we mostly discuss results and rarely the content of performances. The two do not always coincide in football. Which is wonderful, by the way. That is not meant to be an accusation, but as a spectator and also as a journalist, you often cannot analyse performances in football in as much detail as you do within a club,” said Müller. “You would have to watch the games several times, dissect individual scenes, but nobody has the time for that. I don’t know whether your readers would like to read that. Of course, it’s about scoring more goals than the opposition. That’s a simple truth. But it’s also more than that.”

Alonso planning on using front two (ESPN)
Xabi Alonso is expected to use a front two when he takes over at Real Madrid:
Xabi Alonso will play with a front two of Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior at Real Madrid next season, Cadena SER claims, meaning fewer minutes for Rodrygo, who could leave the club. Los Blancos will tell Rodrygo that his role is set to change, which might speed up a departure. Madrid would also like to sign AFC Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen at centre-back and are “optimistic” about completing a deal, and also want to sign a left-back, with Benfica’s Álvaro Carreras and Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo both mentioned. Calciomercato links AC Milan left-back Theo Hernández with a return to Real Madrid.
