Both Arsenal and Liverpool are starting to believe that they could sign Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid this summer, TBR Football can reveal.

Rodrygo signed for Real Madrid from Santos in 2019, a Brazilian who has gone on to make 267 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 68 goals and providing 50 assists.

And whilst the 24-year-old has always been admired by the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, he wasn’t someone who was expected to be available this summer.

However, Rodrygo’s situation has moved quickly in Spain and top clubs across Europe have now been alerted to his potential availability.

Following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe to bolster Carlo Ancelotti’s forward line last season, Rodrygo was no longer guaranteed a first team place, which could now lead to an exit.

That being said, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Premier League clubs are ‘getting excited’ about the prospect of landing Rodrygo.

It’s understood that Rodrygo has 90% made up his mind to leave Real Madrid this summer and in the last few weeks he has heard from Premier League clubs.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been in contact, and there has also been interest from Bayern Munich, and this has seemingly convinced the Brazil international to make the move.

Moreover, following the arrival of Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid are interested in Florian Wirtz, a player who is also being pursued by Man City.

Rodrygo has recognised Real’s Wirtz interest and has seen this as a clear message about his role in the squad from Alonso.

Even if Real aren’t able to buy Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, Rodrygo believes it shows where he is in their thinking right now.

Rodrygo wants to stay in Europe

Real sources have confirmed that Rodrygo is going to meet with the club this week — they spoke last week too but things are now ramping up.

In addition to the clubs mentioned, the Saudi Pro League are also keen on Rodrygo, but the player is inclined to stay in Europe.

And in terms of interest from the Premier League, he is a player who most top English sides admire and would like to sign.

Rodrygo’s attitude and talent is heralded among the Premier League elite, and he is up there with the likes of Wirtz in terms of the interest in his signature.

The £84m-rated Brazilian would undoubtedly transform Arsenal and Liverpool’s attacking prowess next season, a player almost any elite side would love to sign.
