Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly wanted by Inter Milan ahead of the summer transfer window.
Since making the high-profile switch from Bologna to Old Trafford last summer, the Dutchman has netted just seven goals across 48 competitive appearances.
It was thought that Zirkzee’s 2024-25 term was ended by a hamstring issue in April, however the player is hopeful of returning in time to feature in next week’s Europa League final.
For the 16th-placed side in the Premier League standings, the 23-year-old has made the net ripple on just three occasions in 32 league appearances.
Zirkzee is also a second-choice option on the international stage, playing six times for the Netherlands since his senior debut in March 2024.
Man United’s Zirkzee wanted by Inter?
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United flop Zirkzee could be heading for a favourable transfer over the summer.
The report states that Champions League finalists Inter Milan are keen on securing the services of the Dutchman ahead of the 2025-26 term.
It is understood that the Italian giants are in the market to bolster their forward line, with the club struggling with squad depth this term.
Inter are said to be happy with a first-choice pairing of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez up front, although they want more capable backup options.
Tactically versatile, Zirkzee is a genuine option for the Nerazzurri, who want to secure the player’s services from Man United on a loan deal next season.
Where else could Zirkzee go?
As well as Inter Milan, fellow Serie A powerhouses Juventus have also been linked with a swoop for Man United striker Zirkzee in the past.
However, it is believed that the Old Lady’s fondness of the 25-year-old was fuelled by the presence of Thiago Motta, who has since been dismissed from the manager’s post.
As a result, Juve could be set to step aside in the hunt for Zirkzee, leaving European finalists Inter with a clear sight on his signature.
