Arne Slot has done a remarkable job in his first season at Anfield helping Liverpool to win their 20th league title with several games to spare.

The Dutch manager inherited Jurgen Klopp’s team, which had finished third the year prior, and transformed them into the best team in the country.

The 46-year-old has done a stellar job improving many of the players the Merseyside club already had, turning them into some of the best in Europe.

Cody Gakpo hails Arne Slot’s impact on Ryan Gravenberch

Cody Gakpo has hailed the impact Arne Slot has had on Ryan Gravenberch with the Liverpool midfielder becoming one of the best in the Premier League this term.

The Dutch international struggled to find his place in Jurgen Klopp’s team last year, however, under Slot, he has now become an integral player for the Reds.

Gakpo believes that Gravenberch has had an ‘exceptional season’ and that has largely been down to Slot taking a strong liking to him.

Gakpo told Football Daily: “Yeah, I think every manager comes in with his own ideas of players who he wants to play. So, for example, Ryan (Gravenberch) didn’t play that much last season, but this season he played almost everything. So that’s maybe a change.

“This manager thought, oh, this is a good fit for how he wants to play. And then, yeah, in this case, everybody saw how it worked out. And I think Ryan played an exceptional season.”

How has Ryan Gravenberch’s game time changed from Klopp to Slot?

Gravenberch’s minutes have more than doubled since the arrival of Slot at Liverpool, with the midfielder having played 4,049 minutes under the former Feyenoord boss.

Klopp 38 23 1,839 4 2
Slot 47 47 4,049 0 4

Meanwhile, Slot has also changed Gravenberch’s role in the team with the former Ajax star playing all of his time in the number six role.

Whilst under Klopp, the German coach played him in a more advanced midfield role, and the adjustment this campaign appears to have done wonders.
