Liverpool have had a very exciting few days in the transfer window.
Indeed, Jeremie Frimpong is close to joining Liverpool, and he’s not the only Bayer Leverkusen star who could be headed to Anfield.
Indeed, it’s been reported that Liverpool are keen on signing Florian Wirtz. However, conflicting reports have done the rounds on this one.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, David Lynch has now shared what he’s heard from people around Liverpool about this potential deal.
According to the journalist, Liverpool are keen on Wirtz, but the message out of Anfield is that they expect him to stay in Germany.

Liverpool expect Florian Wirtz to stay in Germany
Lynch shared what he’s been hearing about Florian Wirtz and his links to Liverpool.
The journalist says that he’s heard that Liverpool are indeed keen on Wirtz, but they believe he could be headed to Germany rather than to Merseyside this summer.
“It is very much my understanding that he is a player who is liked and that Liverpool would quite like to do a deal for if it was possible. Now, expectations are kind of being played down around Liverpool at the moment as they’re very much positioning this that their expectation is the player wants to stay in Germany either with Bayer Leverkusen for maybe another season or to join Bayern Munich,” Lynch said.
“They aren’t playing down the idea that if he were to come onto the market and want to move to England this summer they would absolutely be in there and try to put a deal together.”
German stars who regretted leaving the Bundesliga
Liverpool believe that Wirtz wants to stay in Germany, and that’s not too much of a shock.
Indeed, for one reason or another, German players very rarely want to leave their home country, and, even when they do, it backfires.
The likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Podolski didn’t quite make it in the Premier League, while Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry quickly returned to Germany after coming to England and many of their compatriots decided to spend their entire careers in Germany.

Wirtz is the next German superstar, and he may also be set to stay in Germany for his entire career.
However, if Wirtz does want to leave Germany, Liverpool may well be at the front of the queue as a transfer battle ensues.
