The Premier League have just announced the contenders for a pretty major end-of-season award and have omitted the rather deserving Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a sensational breakout campaign at Arsenal this year having made 37 appearances.
Lewis-Skelly’s potential has been labelled as ‘scary’ by Bukayo Saka who has tipped his Arsenal teammate to have a great career.
Lewis-Skelly’s astonishing performance away at Real Madrid highlighted just how impressive this young man is and the future for him looks exceptionally bright.
Therefore, it makes the Premier League’s latest decision to omit from the nominations for one of the big awards even more of an odd decision.
Myles Lewis-Skelly misses out on Premier League YPOTY nomination
Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly has missed out on a nomination for the Premier League Young Player of the Season award.
The teenager has proven himself to be one of the league’s best young talents this season and even more so considering the maturity he has shown at such a young age.
Lewis-Skelly netted against Man City, the former Premier League champions, earlier in the season in a moment which announced his arrival on the scene.
Earlier this year, Lewis-Skelly made his England debut and the Hale End academy graduate even managed to mark the occasion with a goal.
Who was nominated for the Premier League YPOTY award?
Meanwhile, his Arsenal teammate William Saliba is sure to be one of the leading contenders for the award. The 24-year-old has played a key role in Arsenal once again mounting a strong title challenge.
Player | Age |
Liam Delap | 22 |
Anthony Elanga | 23 |
Ryan Gravenberch | 22 |
Dean Huijsen | 20 |
Cole Palmer | 23 |

Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch will also be confident that he has done enough to win the award having been integral in helping the Reds secure their first league title since 2020.
Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers has enjoyed a brilliant debut campaign in the top flight and will also be a strong contender to win the award.
