The FIFA Club World Cup™ trophy was taken to the heart of one of football’s most passionate rivalries as CA River Plate showcased the glittering prize ahead of the Superclásico at the cavernous Estadio Monumental.
Some 85,000 fans were in attendance on Sunday as River and arch-rivals CA Boca Juniors – who will both compete at the Club World Cup this summer – locked horns in a deafening atmosphere.
