David Ornstein has shared some transfer news that should make Arsenal really happy – opinion

The summer transfer window is almost upon us, and the cogs are beginning to turn for a number of big clubs.

Indeed, deals are starting to be done all over Europe.

Arsenal are set to sign Martin Zubimendi, Jeremie Frimpong is close to a move to Liverpool, while there’s also been some transfer news out of Real Madrid.

Indeed, according to David Ornstein, Dean Huijsen is now set to sign for Real Madrid.

In a lot of ways, this move is frustrating for Premier League clubs. Liverpool wanted Huijsen, while Chelsea were favourites for Huijsen at one point.

However, one team who may be very relieved to see Huijsen heading to Real Madrid is Arsenal.

Arsenal should be happy that Dean Huijsen is joining Real Madrid

As with every transfer, this move will have a domino effect.

Indeed, much like how Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid allowed Mesut Ozil to sign for Arsenal all those years ago, Dean Huijsen’s move to Madrid may also have a positive effect here.

Real Madrid have had their eyes on William Saliba for a while, but with a shiny new £50m centre-back headed to the Bernabeu, Madrid may no longer be so desperate to sign the Frenchman.

With Raul Asencio, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba all already at the club, bringing in Saliba at this point would potentially be overkill.

William Saliba may be more tempted to sign new deal

With a move to Real Madrid potentially off the cards, Saliba may now be more tempted than ever to sign a new deal with Arsenal.

Arsenal want to tie Saliba down to new terms, and now that a move to the Bernabeu seems less likely, he could be keen to put pen to paper.

Saliba is the best defender in the world, according to some, and if Arsenal can manage to keep hold of the Frenchman, the Gunners would be set up for success for years to come.

Of course, Real Madrid are a team often known for hoarding talent, so you can never fully write off the idea of this move, but, after securing the signing of Huijsen, it’s fair to suggest a new centre-back isn’t at the top of Madrid’s list of priorities at the moment, which, in turn, is great news for Arsenal.
