Chelsea currently have a five-man shortlist of striker targets, however, Victor Osimhen, who nearly signed for the Blues last summer, is now seen as the least likely option to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
Osimhen’s move to Chelsea broke down on transfer deadline day last summer as the West London club failed to get the deal done in time.
The striker instead moved to Galatasaray on loan and in the summer, the 26-year-old is seen as unlikely to move to the Premier League, with other clubs keen on him.
Enzo Maresca and the Chelsea board have now started prioritising other options on their list and their four alternative strikers have been revealed.
Gyokeres, Delap, Ekitike and Sesko are ahead of Osimhen on Chelsea’s list
Viktor Gyokeres, Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko are now all ahead of Victor Osimhen on Chelsea’s list of striker targets, according to Ben Jacobs.
Arsenal are making a strong push to bring Gyokeres to North London, however, the striker is now high on the Blues’ list of targets.
Maresca could also be reunited with Delap whom he worked with during his time at Manchester City’s academy. The striker netted 27 goals in 22 matches under the Italian coach.
Ekitike, who is valued at £85m, is a new name that has emerged on Chelsea’s list with the Frenchman enjoying a brilliant season in the Bundesliga. Finally, Sesko has been a Chelsea target for over a year now and remains so.
Jacobs told London Is Blue: “I am told (Viktor) Gyokeres is quite high in the thinking. I am told they really like (Liam) Delap. (Hugo) Ekitike is the kind of newer name to the mix.
“(Benjamin) Sesko has been on the radar for a year. And I think Victor Osimhen is probably the least likely of the five. I still think there’s a strong chance he’ll end up in Saudi.”
Who has scored the most goals out of Gyokeres, Delap, Ekitike, Sesko and Osimhen?
Gyokeres comfortably leads the way with the most goals on the list, although the Swede has played more matches and whilst doing so in the Portugese top flight.
