Former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged one of England’s most promising young forwards to turn down Manchester United in favour of a move to West Ham this summer.
It’s been a dismal campaign for Man United, who sit 16th in the league table after a staggering 17 defeats — their worst league season in the Premier League.

The Europa League final now stands as a final chance to salvage their season as a win would not only win them a trophy but guarantee them a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Regardless of the outcome, United are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer window, with changes across the squad anticipated.
The club is in desperate need of fresh attacking options, with several players linked with a move to Manchester United including Liam Delap.
But Agbonlahor believes a move to Old Trafford could be the wrong step for one in-demand forward.
Gabriel Agbonlahor urges Liam Delap to sign for West Ham over Manchester United
Delap, who is available for around £30 million, has quickly become one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League this summer, with several top clubs vying for his signature.
Among those keen on signing him are Chelsea, who have been working hard to sign Delap. However, Man United are confident Delap favours them over the Blues.
But the young Ipswich Town striker has been urged to decide against a move to Old Trafford, with the player urged to consider a move to West Ham instead as part of his development.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: “If I were him I wouldn’t be going there (United) at the moment. I wouldn’t stay at Ipswich. I’d go to a West Ham, go and prove yourself at West Ham, the next step. They need a striker, Ferguson will go back to Brighton, that hasn’t worked out. They’re desperate for a striker.”
Liam Delap compared with Harry Kane and Erling Haaland
Despite Ipswich Town’s disappointing season in the Premier League which has seen them get relegated, Delap has flourished for the Tractor Boys, scoring 12 goals and assisting 2.
His performances and style of playing has seen him get compared the likes of Harry Kane and Erling Haaland by his former coach Enzo Maresca.
Speaking to the media before Ipswich’s visit to Chelsea last month, Maresca said (via Goal): “In terms of numbers, Liam [Delap] is doing fantastic. I think he’s scored 12 [Premier League] goals already. It’s not just in terms of his numbers. The way he plays and fights and is always ‘there’. But he’s an Ipswich player. He’s an enemy on Sunday because we need to beat them, and then after the game, I wish him all the best for the future.
“To compare Liam [Delap] with Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, I think it’s a bit early. But for sure, in terms of style, he’s that kind of player. They are all real nines. They are nines inside the box.”
