Ruben Amorim hasn’t had the best first season at Manchester United.
Indeed, while United were a mess when Amorim arrived, the Portuguese coach hasn’t done much to turn the tide at Old Trafford.
Yes, he’s one game away from Champions League qualification, and United are fancied to beat Tottenham in the Europa League final, but, the Red Devils’ league form, simply put, has been unacceptable.

Ruben Amorim isn’t doing an amazing job, and speaking on Stick To Football, Sean Dyche has made quite the claim about the United job.
The former Everton manager reckons he’d actually do a better job than Amorim at United by taking things back to basics rather than playing a convoluted system that the players can’t get on board with.
Sean Dyche says he’d do better than Ruben Amorim
Dyche spoke with Gary Neville about the job Amorim is doing at United.
Amorim has been questioned in recent times, and now, Dyche has claimed he’d do a better job at United.
The 53-year-old says that he’d win more games playing his way with this group of players than Amorim has as of late.
“What do you make of what’s going on there with Ten Hag losing his job and now Amorim. You talk about philosophy and style. He’s said quite clearly he won’t change the way he plays,” Neville asked.
“He better start winning some games then. Pretty quickly in my opinion. I think if I went there and played my way I’d win more games. I’m not just saying that, 4-4-2, basic rules and principles, there are some good players here. You don’t have to over teach everyone. He’s been there a while now he needs to start bringing some wins I think,” Dyche said.
Sean Dyche compared to Ruben Amorim
While the idea of Sean Dyche managing Manchester United sounds preposterous, he may be onto something here.
Indeed, while Dyche isn’t a renowned world-class tactician, he knew how to get things done in this league.
This is a manager who took Burnley to seventh at one point, meanwhile, Amorim has United 16th with a much more talented squad.
In fact, Dyche finished 15th with Everton last season with a points deduction, a higher finish than Amorim is on course for this term.

Of course, United shouldn’t consider sacking Amorim and hiring Dyche, but this does just go to show what a poor job Amorim has done domestically at Old Trafford so far.
As Dyche says, Amorim really needs to start winning games, otherwise, he’ll be under some serious pressure.
