Liverpool target Jeremie Frimpong has reportedly decided that he wants an Anfield move this summer.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender is being targeted by the Premier League champions, who are also assessing other right-back options ahead of the new term.
The Reds are preparing for life without the talents of academy graduate Trent Alexander-Arnold, with the England international set to join Real Madrid in June.
As a result, Connor Bradley has been operating as Liverpool’s first-choice right-back in recent times, starting the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last weekend.
The Northern Irishman is not expected to retain that status into the 2025-26 term, though, with Arne Slot‘s men plotting a swoop for a new face in defence.

Liverpool talks with Frimpong ‘progressing well’
According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool are moving closer to the capture of their Alexander-Arnold replacement ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the title-winning Reds are ‘progressing well’ in talks with Frimpong and his representatives over an off-season switch to Merseyside.
It is understood that the Leverkusen star wants the transfer to go ahead, with Liverpool head coach Slot ‘very keen’ on bringing his compatriot to the club.
It is believed that Frimpong has a €35m (£29.4m) release clause in his contract at BayArena, meaning that an agreement would not break the bank for the English champions.
Scottish Premiership winners Celtic – from whom the right-back moved to Germany in January 2021 – are in line to pocket around £5m from the sale.

Where can Frimpong play?
Over the last two seasons at Bayer Leverkusen, defender Frimpong has scored 19 goals and provided 19 assists from a wing-back role for the German giants.
It is likely that the 24-year-old will have to operate in a traditional right-back berth for Liverpool, who are set to stick with the tactics which won them the Premier League title this season.
Frimpong is an extremely versatile footballer, possessing the ability to play anywhere down the flank, including as a right winger, as shown by many outings for the Netherlands.
