Liverpool trio Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch are among eight players to have been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Season award.
Crowned champions with four games to spare, the Reds unsurprisingly lead the way in terms of shortlisted players, and Salah will be the overwhelming favourite to take home the prize.
The 32-year-old has registered more combined goals and assists in a 38-game Premier League season than any other player, banking 28 of his own and 18 assists for a total of 46 direct contributions.
Salah is on course for a Golden Boot and Playmaker Award double, and the ex-Chelsea man only needs one goal or assist in his last two games to equal the record for direct involvements in any Premier League season.
The Egypt international won his first Premier League Player of the Season prize in the 2017-18 season, and he could now become just the fifth player to take home the accolade on multiple occasions.

Only Thierry Henry (2003–04, 2005–06), Cristiano Ronaldo (2006–07, 2007–08), Nemanja Vidic (2008–09, 2010–11) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019–20, 2021–22) have been bestowed with the honour more than once, but Van Dijk could also join that crowd.
Liverpool’s inspirational skipper won the 2018-19 Premier League Player of the Season, making him the last Reds man to clinch the honour; each of the last five has gone to a Manchester City representative.
Phil Foden is the current holder of the award, but are no Sky Blues up for this year’s prize; instead, two Nottingham Forest troops have been shortlisted after helping the Tricky Trees end their 30-year exile from European football.
Star striker Chris Wood could become the first-ever New Zealand player to win the Premier League’s Player of the Season prize, having been nominated on account of scoring a terrific 20 goals from 34 top-flight appearances.
Teammate Morgan Gibbs-White is also up for the honour; the beating heart of Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side, the England international boasts six goals and eight assists in the top flight, and his side are still in with a shot of UCL qualification.

The remaining three nominees represent three different clubs, as Arsenal‘s Declan Rice – who has had a direct hand in 10 top-flight goals this term – could become the first Gunner to win the award since Henry in 2006.
Newcastle United talisman Alexander Isak has inevitably been shortlisted too, and the Swedish sensation – who has struck 23 times this term – is hoping to become the first-ever Magpies player to be crowned Premier League Player of the Season.
Finally, Bryan Mbeumo has earned a slice of club history as the first-ever Brentford player to be nominated for the end-of-season accolade, having been involved in an exceptional 25 goals from 36 games in 2024-25, 18 of his own and seven assists.
Fans can vote for their Player of the Season on the EA Sports Website until 12pm on Monday, May 19, and supporters’ selections will be combined with the nominations of a panel of football experts to determine the winner, which will be revealed next week.
