Newly-crowned La Liga champions Barcelona will head to Villarreal in Spain’s top flight on Sunday evening.
The Catalan giants secured the title with two games to spare courtesy of their 2-0 success over rivals Espanyol on Thursday night.
Barcelona have proven to be the best side in the top flight of Spanish football during the 2024-25 campaign, and head coach Hansi Flick has delivered three trophies in a very successful first season at the helm.
As for Villarreal, the Yellow Submarine have also had a strong campaign, with 64 points from 36 matches leaving them in fifth position in the table, so a Champions League finish is very much on the agenda.
Marcelino’s side have won each of their last four matches in Spain’s top flight, and they sit five points ahead of sixth-placed Real Betis, while the visitors are only three points behind fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao.
