Bayern Munich will be looking to close down the season…
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has had a great first season in Bavaria and is looking forward to give the Bundesliga season a proper ending.
“It’s about (Hoffenheim)’s battle to stay up, but in reality they score a huge amount of goals. They’re not an opponent who sit back. They have ways of hurting opponents on the ball. I’ve seen very few games where opponents have managed to get to grips with Hoffenheim’s attack. Things obviously look different in the table. We’ve won the title with lots of hard work and can’t give any opponents the gift of allowing them a good afternoon against us,” Kompany said (via @iMiaSanMia). “If everything goes well, everyone who was there last week is available tomorrow.”
Kompany was asked about the Ibiza trip this week for some of his players and the manager said it was a non-issue.
“It was a topic for you, not for me. For me, the topic was Hoffenheim and the match preparation. We had a lot of time to prepare well. We had a good week. The fact that Bayern Munich is being talked about is part of it, we accept that.” Kompany said.
As for what the next few weeks will look like, Kompany talked through it.
“Some of the guys will be going to the national team. The few who aren’t going to the national team will get two weeks off. We’ll be together again on June 5th. It will be a small group. Then on June 10th, we’ll fly to the US. But not everyone will be there at first. Everyone has their own schedule, and they’ll have to do a bit of training during those two weeks. But we also want it to be a vacation. We’re looking forward to the next competition,” Kompany said.
