Well, Harry Kane worked out, didn’t he?
Bayern eyeing Porro? (The Hard Tackle)
The right-back position at Bayern Munich is not one that is getting a lot of attention these days.
Konrad Laimer, a central midfielder by trade, has emerged as the starter, while Josip Stanišić (reportedly moving to center-back), Sacha Boey (expected to be sold), and Raphaël Guerreiro (played a few games at the position this season) are all currently options for head coach Vincent Kompany.
It would not be altogether shocking to see Bayern Munich bolster the position if it can sell Boey, but does the club already have a prime target in Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro?
Maybe:
Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro.
Bayern Munich are gearing up for a significant summer overhaul, and one of the key areas of focus is the right-back position. Pedro Porro, who has been one of Tottenham Hotspur’s standout performers this season, has emerged as a prime target for the Bavarian giants. With the club determined to reclaim its domestic and European dominance, Porro’s dynamic style of play has reportedly caught the attention of manager Vincent Kompany as he looks to fortify the flanks.
Under Kompany’s guidance, Bayern are aiming to revamp their defensive line with a player who can balance defensive solidity with attacking flair. Porro, known for his aggressive runs forward, pinpoint crosses, and defensive tenacity, fits the profile perfectly. Since making his permanent switch from Sporting CP in 2023, the Spaniard has cemented his status as one of the Premier League’s top right-backs, combining his defensive discipline with an impressive attacking output.
Bayern are not alone in pursuing Porro. Barcelona and Manchester City are also credited with interest in the Spaniard, with both clubs monitoring his situation closely. Barcelona, under financial constraints, are unlikely to meet Tottenham’s valuation, while City are looking for a more cost-effective solution. This could give Bayern the edge in negotiations, provided they are willing to meet the asking price.
While it is an intriguing thought, Bayern Munich could get away with another season of Laimer and Stanišić as the primary options at the positions. On the scale of needs, right-back is not one that the club seems altogether concerned with at the moment.
If you want to give this report from credence, though, this is not the first time that Bayern Munich has kicked the tires on the 25-year-old. Back in 2022, the Bavarians liked the player during his time at Sporting CP.
Rodrygo out at Real? Eh, probably not (ESPN)
It has been reported that incoming Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso wants to play a top two-based formation featuring Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior, which could leave Rodrygo in a precarious position.
Rumors have already began to swirl that the youngster could make a push to leave Madrid:
Rodrygo “will not continue at Real Madrid if an offer arrives” this summer. The Brazil forward “has played a lot this year, and hasn’t performed as hoped.” Rodrygo has scored six times in 30 LaLiga appearances this season, with just one goal in all competitions coming in the last three months. (El Chiringuito)
The player, however, seems to imply that he will be back:

Everton saves Goodison Park (The Guardian)
This is really cool:
Goodison Park, one of the UK’s oldest football stadiums, has been saved from demolition and will become the country’s first major stadium dedicated solely to a women’s team next season.
Hailed as a gamechanging move for women’s football, Everton Women will kick off their first season at Goodison in September, 133 years after the men’s team started playing at the ground in Walton, Liverpool.
Goodison, which has hosted more top-flight games than any other stadium in England since it became the home of Everton football club in 1892, was set to be bulldozed when the men’s side move to a new 52,888-seat stadium in Bramley-Moore dock on the banks of the Mersey next season. Sunday’s game against relegated Southampton will mark Goodison’s last Premier League fixture.
But in a shock move that has delighted fans the club’s new American owners have announced that the historic ground will become the new long-term home of the women’s team in a bid to make the ground “one of the most distinctive homes in European women’s football”.
The move would provide “a blueprint for how clubs can build the future of women’s football”, said Nikki Doucet, the CEO of Women’s Super League Football. “Establishing Goodison Park as a purpose-driven home for the women’s team sends a powerful signal – not just about ambition, but about belief,” she said. “Belief in the players, the fans, and in what the women’s game can become when given the stage it deserves.”

Bayern still interested in Araújo? (ESPN)
Bayern Munich is reportedly very close to a deal with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, but the Bavarians might be keeping tabs on FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo as well:
Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Juventus are interested in Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo. The 26-year-old, who is happy at Barca, has a contract clause which makes him available for €65m in the first 15 days of July. (Diario Sport)
Hainer comments on Müller’s departure and why signals were crossed (Bild via @iMiaSanMia)
President Herbert Hainer touched on why things were so confusing regarding Thomas Müller’s future at Bayern Munich — and why the club ultimately opted to sever ties with the veteran after this season.
“Max Eberl has already explained everything well. He [Eberl] was very euphoric after the first talks and made the statements in January. He said he made a mistake, which also speaks for his personality admitting the mistake. The decision was made in relation to the future squad planning. It was made together with all committees of the club. I had a long conversation with Thomas this week. There’s nothing negative between him and the club. Thomas is a very reflected guy, Bayern will always be his club. We’ll do everything to give him a worthy farewell after the Club World Cup,” Hainer said.

Chelsea-BVB swap deal for wingers? (TEAMtalk via ESPN)
Chelsea FC and Borussia Dortmund might be (note the satire) thinking about a player swap:
Chelsea could offer Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund in a swap deal for Jamie Gittens, the England under-21 international who seems certain to return to England at the end of the season. If Chelsea stick to their commitment to sign Sancho permanently from Man United, he could then sign for Dortmund for a third time.

Pep eyeing Donnarumma? (Sport Italia via ESPN)
When Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is not busying trying to wreck Bayern Munich’s summer transfer of Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz, he is allegedly contemplating a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma:
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and could launch a bid for the Italian if Ederson leaves this summer.

BVB makes Bellingham No. 1 target (ESPN)
Borussia Dortmund seems to have lasered in on Jobe Bellingham as its top target for the summer transfer window:
Borussia Dortmund have made Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham their No. 1 summer target, Bild reports. Jude’s brother has been a revelation in the Championship this season, being named the EFL young player of the year and helping his club into the playoff final — 90 minutes from a Premier League return. The report says there is universal agreement at BVB to move for the 19-year-old. It would cap a remarkable double for Dortmund, who set up Jude’s career before he moved to Real Madrid. Dortmund have already met the player’s representative and set aside a transfer budget of €25m to €30m for after the playoff final is played on May 24.
