Everton fans have had their say after the club announced the official name of their new stadium.

Everton will play their final men’s fixture at Goodison Park against Southampton on Sunday (May 18).

With the commercial demands of modern-day football, their historic home, which dates back to 1892, was simply not fit for purpose despite its rugged charm.

So, as of the 2025/26 campaign, Everton will be playing their matches on the banks of the River Mersey at their new state-of-the-art stadium built on Bramley-Moore dock near Liverpool city centre.

Since the construction of the stadium was announced in July 2021, fans have wondered what the ground will be called.

And now they have an answer.

In a statement released to the club’s website on Friday (May 16), it was confirmed that local Law firm Hill Dickinson has secured a “long-term agreement that will see the iconic venue named Hill Dickinson Stadium”.

Fans were quick to give their thoughts on social media.

One said: “Think we all agree it’s just Bramley Moore isn’t it.”

Another added: “It’s not oil state money, it’s not a betting firm praying on addicts, it’s a company with local ties that’s paying a decent price.

“And… it’ll be called Bramley Moore by everyone who’s not corporately bound to call it the HD stadium.”

While a third explained: “People already getting annoyed over a stadium name that will never be used (certainly not by the fans).

“It’s all about who’s offering the most.”

A fourth commented: “Once in a lifetime opportunity and we hand it over to a firm of local solicitors?

“Thought TFG had blue chip links?”

As a fifth joked: “Come on, come on, get down to the Hill Dickinson stadium. Everton, we’ve never shone so brightly….”

Angus Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Everton, said: “Welcoming Hill Dickinson as our naming rights partner is a bold and strategic step forward. This partnership goes beyond branding – it’s a shared commitment to progress, excellence and the regeneration of our city. Hill Dickinson Stadium will stand as a symbol of Everton’s ambitions, our values, and the global future we are building together.”

Meanwhile, Craig Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Hill Dickinson, added: “To put our name to Everton’s new stadium is a once-in-a-generation opportunity We believe deeply in what this project stands for – a bold, transformational vision for Liverpool and its future.”
