Nottingham Forest return to Premier League duties on Sunday, facing West Ham United at the London Stadium on the back of an emotional week.
The Tricky Trees’ 2-2 draw with Leicester City last weekend confirmed their spot in Europe for next season, but the result was overshadowed by a distressing injury to striker Taiwo Awoniyi.
The 27-year-old played on after colliding with the goal-post, but it was subsequently revealed that he suffered a suspected ruptured intestine and had to be placed in an induced coma.
Thankfully, Awoniyi has now woken and is on the long road to recovery, and either way, Premier League Player of the Season nominee Chris Wood would have led the line on Sunday.
The New Zealand international made it 20 goal for the Premier League season against the Foxes and has bagged eight against West Ham in the competition down the years, his best record against a single Premier League team.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is still struggling with a hamstring problem, so Nicolas Dominguez should continue on the left-hand side, although Ryan Yates may take Ibrahim Sangare‘s place as Nuno Espirito Santo manages his players’ minutes.
It remains to be seen whether Murillo can battle back from a thigh issue of his own for the weekend; if not, Morato and Nikola Milenkovic will link arms in an unchanged backline again.
Nottingham Forest possible starting lineup:
Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Morato, Williams; Yates, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Dominguez; Wood
