Sevilla vs. Real Madrid: Predicted XI for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in La Liga contest

2 Min Read

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti will again have to name a patched-up side for Sunday’s La Liga clash against Sevilla, with the capital giants suffering from a huge injury crisis in the final stages of the campaign.

Los Blancos will enter the match off the back of a 2-1 success over Mallorca, with Jacobo Ramon‘s first senior goal securing all three points for the home side at Bernabeu.

However, Barcelona managed to secure the La Liga title on Thursday night with a 2-0 win over Espanyol, with Real Madrid’s spot as runners-up for the 2024-25 campaign therefore being confirmed.

Aurelien Tchouameni will be back in the squad on Sunday after missing out against Mallorca through suspension.

However, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz, Andriy Lunin and Lucas Vazquez remain doubts, with all five needing to be assessed before their involvement against Sevilla is decided.

Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are definitely out, meanwhile, demonstrating the extent of the issues for Ancelotti in the final stages of his time at the helm.

Kylian Mbappe has scored 40 times for Real Madrid during an excellent debut season, and the France international is expected to be joined by Endrick in the final third of the field this weekend.

Arda Guler is also likely to keep his spot, while Dani Ceballos and Luka Modric are expected to once again operate in the middle of midfield, as the returning Tchouameni is set to feature in the middle of the defence.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Valverde, Tchouameni, Asencio, F Garcia; Guler, Ceballos, Modric, Bellingham; Mbappe, Endrick
