The drama continues to unfold…

For weeks, reports came out that Bayer Leverkusen superstar and long time Bayern Munich target Florian Wirtz only wanted to join Bayern amid interest from the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool FC. This was contradicted, however, when it was reported that Wirtz traveled to England to explore a potential move. That certainly is not a sign of any dedication to Bayern.

Naturally, this topic was brought up by reporters in the Bavarians’ pre match press conference ahead of the team’s final Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim. Predictably, Bayern’s board member for sport, Max Eberl did not have much to say about it.

“If Florian Wirtz and his family made this trip, they’ll have their reasons,” Eberl, said, via @iMiaSanMia. “It’s not our place to comment on that.”

This transfer poker is far from over. Buckle up, people. This is going to be a long summer transfer window. And it has not even started yet.
