Former Liverpool stalwart Daniel Agger has announced his plans to return to Anfield to witness his former team hoist the Premier League trophy next weekend.
The Reds secured the title in emphatic fashion with a resounding 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at an ecstatic Anfield at the end of last month.
Arne Slot’s squad will face Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday before hosting Crystal Palace at Anfield the following weekend.
After the final whistle against Palace, Liverpool will be ceremoniously crowned champions.
Agger has expressed his excitement about making a heartfelt comeback to Anfield, stating that he couldn’t miss the chance to soak in the atmosphere and see his old club claim the title.
“I just have to go over and feel the atmosphere, be in the stadium and see them lift the trophy,” he disclosed to Tipsbladet.
During his tenure at Anfield, which commenced with his transfer from Brondby in January 2006, Agger racked up 232 appearances and netted 14 goals for Liverpool over more than eight years.

He hung up his boots in 2016 after a distinguished career that also included captaining Denmark, but he continues to hold a special place in the hearts of Liverpool fans.
Reflecting on his move and his time with Liverpool, the ex-Denmark international conceded: “It went pretty fast, but I also had several other clubs interested.
“I actually tried to keep my focus on Brondby, where things were going really well.
“I didn’t think much about it at first, but when it got closer and I suddenly had to talk to the coach [Rafael Benitez], I could tell it felt right.
“They had just been to the Champions League final and won it, and then I had a good conversation with Benitez, and he expressed that he wanted to invest in me. That’s a very good start.”
