Manchester City faced off against Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a positive result in the FA Cup final. Pep Guardiola’s men made a slow start to the contest and conceded the opening goal in the 16th minute when Eberechi Eze found the back of the net. Man City failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

The Mancunian club dominated the game in the second half but failed to find the equaliser. Man City ended up crashing to a tough 1-0 loss in the FA Cup final.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the clash against the Eagles.

GK: Stefan Ortega – 6/10

He made one solid save at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet this evening.

RB: Manuel Akanji – 6.5/10

Akanji was strong in the air and was accurate with his passing.

CB: Ruben Dias – 7/10

Dias cleared the danger when he could and was good on the ball.

CB: Josko Gvardiol – 7.5/10

He made a lot of crucial clearances at the back but his efforts were not enough today.

LB: Nico O’Reilly – 6.5/10

He caught the eye at times on both ends of the field but was guilty of squandering a great chance to equalise in the second half.

CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7/10

De Bruyne made a few key chances for his teammates but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.

CM: Bernardo Silva – 6.5/10

He worked his socks off in the middle of the park but struggled to create chances for others around him.

RW: Savio – 6.5/10

Savio linked up play well with his teammates but lacked quality in the final third.

CAM: Omar Marmoush – 5.5/10

Marmoush missed a penalty which ended up costing his team the FA Cup.

LW: Jeremy Doku – 7.5/10

He made a handful of driving runs with the ball but failed to find the cutting edge in front of the Palace goal.

ST: Erling Haaland – 6.5/10

Haaland was not shy of having a strike at goal but struggled to get into the game at times.

Substitutes:

CAM: Claudio Echeverri – 6.5/10

He was a real menace in the final third.

RW: Phil Foden – 6/10

His impact on the game was minimal.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan – N/A
